Meet The Owner
Martin Harnish
I’m Marty Harnish, CPA, founder of Harnish CPA, and I’ve been serving individuals and business owners as a Certified Public Accountant since 2016. I’ve worked in both public and private accounting, which gives me a well-rounded perspective on the financial and operational challenges faced by small to midsized businesses and the people who own them.
I specialize in helping business owners set up strong accounting systems, understand what their numbers are really telling them, and make informed decisions that lead to long-term success. Whether it’s tax planning, compliance, or translating financial statements into plain English, I focus on practical solutions that save money, reduce stress, and support growth. I enjoy digging into complex issues and pride myself on being a thoughtful, reliable problem solver.
I grew up in Marietta, Pennsylvania and currently live in Lancaster County, where I remain closely connected to the local business community. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Elizabethtown College and later completed my MBA at Shippensburg University. Outside of accounting, I’m a part-time real estate investor, which allows me to bring firsthand experience to clients navigating real-world financial decisions. Before my career in accounting, I wrestled at Donegal High School and Elizabethtown College, and I later had the opportunity to coach wrestling at Donegal High School. That background shaped my disciplined, results-driven approach and my appreciation for hard work and accountability. Outside the office, I enjoy spending time with family, being outdoors, and staying active through running, biking, swimming, and strength training.
I’m a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) and am passionate about working with business owners who care about building something meaningful. My goal is simple: to be a trusted advisor who helps clients understand their finances, stay compliant, and keep more of what they earn.
